Here's a good view of the work area behind the wall on the back new straight pit area at Bristol.
Back Pit road 400.jpg
Terry Cook's Toyota (59) is at the head of the line of trucks pitting on the back straight at the Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series test. In all, 31 trucks took part in the test.
Benson Musgrave 400.jpg
The Toyotas of Johnny Benson, Jr. (23) and Mike Skinner (5) are readied prior to the eight-hour NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series test at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Garage Area 400.jpg
The infield at Bristol Motor Speedway remained virtually unchanged - still cramped and crowded with race haulers and service buildings (media center in at left).
Goodyear 400.jpg
While the track surface was replaced at Bristol, the infield buildings were not. Here's the Goodyear compound in Turn 3, whose roof also serves as Victory Lane for the track.
Scales 400.jpg
Teams use the new, wide concrete pit stalls to set up scales prior to the practice on the new Bristol Motor Speedway track surface.
Turn Angle 2 400.jpg
Truck Series driver Terry Cook puts a level and a digital angle finder to work to determine the banking of the new Bristol Motor Speedway for his HT Motorsports Team engineering data.
Turn Angle 400.jpg
While advertised at 36-degrees of banking in the corners, this digital angle gauge shows the banking at the top of the new concrete surface half-mile oval is actually 27.8 degrees. The middle groove measure out at 25 degrees while the bottom groove had 22 degrees of banking.
Turns 1 2 400.jpg
It's hard to imagine Bristol Motor Speedway as an 18,000-seat, asphalt paved oval, but that's exactly what it was when it opened in 1961. Today, the track features 160,000 seats and a new concrete racing surface.
Turns 3-4 400.jpg
Here's an up-top shot of Turns 3-4 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Note the subtle flare out of the front stretcth wall and wider pit road.
Back Straight 400.jpg
Here's a shot from Turn 3 looking back down the back straight toward Turn 2 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Concrete Pads 400.jpg
Both sides of pit wall got a makeover in the repaving of Brisol Motor Speedway. Wide, concrete pads are now a staple of both sides of pit wall.
