Close Finishes, INC. was created by John Close in 1985 in Madison, WI to assist local racers with quality media services at reasonable prices.
Over the past two-plus decades, Close, a former Associated Press daily newspaper sports editor, has expanded Close Finishes to include the creation of motorsports media, marketing and public relations services on a national level.
Today, the company specializes in creating sponsor, team and industry editorial content for media distribution on all levels - especially on the Internet - and again at competitive prices.
Close Finishes - now located in Charlotte, NC - features a client history that includes Richard Petty Motorsports, The Nashville Network, Primedia, Petersen Publishing, Tyler Jet Motorsports, EMP Stewart Components, ASE, and Motorsports Management Solutions just to name a few.

A motorsports writer of national note, Close has crafted thousands of newspaper, magazine and program stories in his 25-year journalism career and has been a regular contributor top industry publications such as Stock Car Racing, Circle Track, Speedway Illustrated, and NASCAR Illustrated Magazines - as well as top weekly trade papers such as NASCAR Scene and National Speed Sport News.
In 2004, Motorbooks International published Close’s first book -Tony Stewart - From Indy Phenom To NASCAR Superstar. Close's next book - The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series - Desert Dust To Superspeedways - another MBI creation, hit the book stores in 2007.
